This is a Brayz Hamburger place, Other Bray's are blah normal looking buildings, but this one is cool! I believe this one is located near Royal Oak in Hazel Park. Notice the cow on top! Picture courtesy Richard Engle.
You can find some history Bray's Hamburgers here.
The famous Bates Hamburgers on 5 Mile in Livonia, at the corner of Farmington. Their address is 33406 5 Mile Rd.
As you can tell by the sign, they're
located on Wayne, I believe on the corner of Ford.
This is just a plain classic looking
place. It is possibly located at 2908 Fort Street,
Lincoln Park. I remember this place being very close to M-39,
which a map does show this to be true.
I
took this picture for the old sign. building wise, there is a
much better vantage point from the other side, but hte side is blank on
that side. The picture was not taken too far from the Jobee picture,
farther down on this page.
Thanks go out to Kathy Stribley for
this picture. It is in downtown Royal Oak.
I
located this place, between finding Bud's and Carter's above.
The
internet says this place is located at: 21944 Van Born Rd, Dearborn
Heights.
This
is another of the should not miss places. Just a plain great
place. They even have an example of the original white and green
plates, in the place. It is located at 24155 Orchard Lake Rd
This place was slated for demolition,
so as I write this, it might not exist anymore. The address given
is 35075 Woodward Ave. The internet also gives a second
address of 351
Gratiot Ave, Detroit. I have not checked this one out, although it is
right in downtown, by the two sports fields. See the bar
below
for a downtown classic.
Can't
tell you anything about this place, other than it is on Fort, on the
south side of Detroit, probably in one of the suburbs Like Lincoln Park.
Unfortunately,
this place was leveled for a plaza. Some pharmacy chain probably. I
can't remember what corner this was on. I passed it one summer, heading
north of Novi, towards some lakes, and next year, on the same road, it
was gone. Never did see this place open, thou.
This picture is compliments of
Richard Engle. It is located at the corner of Greenfield and
Schoolcraft Rd
in Redford. Notice it has much bigger windows than the othe places. A
slightly diffrent design.
The
Telway is 27000 John R Rd., at the corner of 11 Mile. This place also
has quite a large section of windows in front, but note the corner
where the entrance is, so it's not a complete box.
Steve Koons of Dayton let me know about this place. I finally visited
in the summer of 2006. It is now the White Lotus Cafe and Yummy Burger,
which serves Thai food along with the burgers. Excellent burgers!
This
former White Tower is barely a block away from the Yummy Burger. It's
so unique to find three classic places so close together like in
downtown Dayton.
This is across the street and two
buildings down from the Yummy Burger.
A
special to the website is this Art-Deco styled bar, just outside of
Detroit Tigers Stadium. The picture was actually taken from
inside the new stadium.
