Introduction - The Ohio
Diner
Project is developed by www.nydiners.com, and is an attempt to document
the diners, past and present of the state of Ohio. The pages are split up into regions. Once inside a
region,
you can view the current diner, and a list of the diners of the past.
If you know of a diner from the past, please post a message
in
the forums.
Got News? - Now, you can post news to our site. Click on the
Ohio Blog
page, and leave the information. Help keep us updated on the
latest Ohio Diner News. Or, maybe you know about a diner or
lunch wagon that once existed in the state. You can still
leave a message on the Great Lakes region
message board. The password is "temp". Now you have two ways to contact
us.
Ohio Diner Manufacturers - The State of Ohio had at least four diner manufacturers building diners in the state from 1926-1950. These include the
Richardson Dining Car Co
of Dayton, Bixler Manufacturing of Fremont then Norwalk, Kuhlman (a
subsidiary of Brill) in Cleveland and DagWood Diners of Toledo.
Also, today, there is
Diversified Diners of Cleveland, who are the only known company that specifically restores classic diners.
